A new venture backed by Stara aims to simplify the complex world of capital raising by connecting investment opportunities with the right capital and investors.

Introducing CapitalNet, the latest Stara-backed platform to support emerging investment opportunities across real estate, infrastructure and other asset classes.

CapitalNet is designed to bridge the gap between capital seekers and capital providers. It provides a full suite of advisory services to investment managers, including product design, financial modelling, capital raising strategy, pitch preparation and ongoing investor relations communications.

Led by an experienced team with backgrounds in funds management, financial services and investor engagement, CapitalNet brings a practical, execution-focused approach to raising and managing investment capital.

Paul Weightman, Managing Director of Stara, said the launch of CapitalNet would fill a clear gap in the market.

“There are many talented investment managers with great strategies and strong track records who struggle to access the right investors or navigate the regulatory and commercial barriers to raising capital,” he said.

“Meanwhile, the biggest challenge facing investors is navigating the myriads of investment opportunities and offers they receive every day.

“CapitalNet exists to solve these problems – giving managers the support, guidance and structure they need to raise capital and scale their business, while providing investors with the confidence and comfort of knowing any investment opportunity has passed stringent criteria and been reviewed by an expert team.”

CapitalNet is aligned with Stara’s broader philosophy of developing real asset platforms that are values-led, investor-aligned and institutionally ready.

It operates as an AFS-authorised representative and draws on the broader strategic and compliance infrastructure of Stara’s funds management business.

“Raising capital is more than just building a pitch deck,” said CapitalNet director Jodie Clark.

“It comes down to having a clear story, knowing your audience, structuring things the right way and showing investors you’re in it for the long haul,” she said.

“CapitalNet gives emerging managers the practical support they need to take an idea and turn it into a credible, investment-ready offer. It’s a hands-on, collaborative approach that builds real capability.”
