Stara has officially launched the Venu Hospitality Fund, a new investment platform focused on freehold and operating hospitality assets across Southeast and Coastal Queensland.

Wholesale investors will have the opportunity to share in a diversified portfolio of Queensland hospitality venues under a new Corporate Collective Investment Vehicle (CCIV) unveiled by Stara.

Venu Hospitality Fund has an initial portfolio comprising of two profitable and well-located Queensland Hotels – The Beachmere Hotel in the City of Moreton Bay, South East Queensland, and the Pine Beach Hotel on Queensland’s Capricorn Coast.

The investment strategy is to grow the fund by acquiring or establishing complementary operating businesses and associated real estate, and adding value through business and property initiatives.

Venu is targeting wholesale investors with a forecast Year 1 distribution of 7.5%, with additional franking credits. Structured for long-term value and growth, the fund capitalises on key investment drivers including population growth, consumer behaviour shifts, tourism recovery, and the lead-up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.

The fund is managed by Stara Investment Management, the licensed funds management arm of Stara.

Stara Managing Director Paul Weightman said hospitality was one of the most resilient sectors in the economy, especially during times of higher inflation when venues could closely manage their pricing.

“There are very few investments that can do this, so we think this fund provides a great opportunity for stable income and growth,” he said.

“We also believe that by owning the real estate and the business that occupies it we have more ability to add value to both.”

The Venu Hospitality Fund reflects Stara’s focus on platforms with resilient income, strong demographic backing and operational upside. It offers investors exposure to high-quality venues with both freehold property value and operational cash flow, all managed under a vertically integrated structure.
